Step 1. Join us

Step 1. Join us
This will get you onto our database. You will receive periodic e-mails about NCCFMRC's progress and alert you when action is needed. NCCFMRC will supply all the necessary information: deadlines, addresses, phone numbers, etc., when you need it. Check the News page on this Website frequently for updated information, also. Join us.
Personal information that you provide will be used only by NCCFMRC and will not given or sold to anyone—ever.
Step 2. Spread The Word

Step 2. Spread
the Word
Tell other people.
Most people have never heard of the felony murder
rule. It is part of our mission to inform as many
people as possible. Explain the felony murder rule
to them and get them to check this Website and
encourage them to become an NCCFMRC
member.
Step 3. Write Letters

Step 3. Write
Letters
If you're not already a registered voter,
register to
vote before you start writing
letters. Legislators have immediate access to
voter registration lists, and if your name is
not there your letter may not count for much
since you can't vote for him/her.
Letter writing and visitation is a primary focus of
our group and is vital to changing the law.

Our objective for the 2009 session is to have one
or more legislators sponsor a bill to repeal the
felony murder rule. If the legislators don't want
to sponsor or co-sponsor, they should be persuaded
to vote positively for a bill if and when it comes
up for a vote.
Step 4. Call and/or Visit Your Two State Representatives

Step 4. Call
and/or visit your two state representatives
A phone call makes a big impression. A personal
visit makes the biggest impression. If you are able
to make phone calls or personal visits, let NCCFMRC
know about your availability. We can supply you
with helpful information before your call or visit.
And don't forget to e-mail us the
results of your call or visit! It's vitally
important to our ongoing efforts.

Step 5. Be Aware Of Educational Opportunities

Step 5. Be Aware
of Educational Opportunities
Making the public aware of the felony murder rule
and its severe implications is a major part of our
mission. If there is an opportunity for an NCCFMRC
speaker to speak and have a discussion session at a
school or before a civic group (such as the Lions
Club or Kiwanis) or church group, please let us
know! Just drop us an e-mail and let us
know who to contact.
